My Girls

What is a best friend? Noun 1. best friend- the one friend who is closest to you.
friend- a person you know well and regard with affection and trust.

Friendship is co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationsip which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, and often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will ususally be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them.

Dallas and Tabitha came to Houston to visit me and Jayne. We try to get together every few months to have a girls' weekend and keep our sanity. We had a great time shopping, eating, hanging out, catching up and we even got to have a night out. It was great. Thanks for a great weekend girls!

Words cannot describe how much I love these girls and how much fun I have with these girls. I just want to tell them thank you for being my sister (GO XO), my confidants, and most importantly, my best friends! We are Sisters Inc! :)
P.S. One member could not be with us...we missed you Ashley!

Faux Hawk

Zach needed a haircut and we decided to go 'fun.' Check it out! What a hip little tike! :)

The Many Faces of Zachary

He IS one of a kind!!!!! What a ham! Usually (lately) he does not want his picture taken, but this day, he was in rare form. Making face after face. This boy can turn your mood from sour to good within minutes!!!!! He said, "Mom, this is my pirate face...arghhhh!"

My Day

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! Wow, I AM a mother! Saying it still gives me butterflies- but in a good way. Yes they call me 'momma' and 'mom,' but when I stop and really think about it...WOW! That's all I can think of...WOW! What an awesome challenge God has trusted me with. These two little people entrusted to my care, nourishment, and love. And they are just so perfect. They complete me.

I awoke to my baby girl babbling in her crib. This is usually what I always wake up to, but today it was different. I think she was being extra good so that mommy could rest just a little bit longer.
My wonderful husband made me breakfast, but then had to go to work for a short while. So I decided to be lazy...why not? It's my day, right?
I was surprised with lunch, flowers, and something that I have been wanting for a while now. I got the iPod 'chip' (I don't know what else to call it) for my Nike running shoes. Yes, for those of you that didn't know...I have taken up running. Getting older is hell, the metabolism is just not what it used to be! :) So, it is like my own personal workout assistant. It's very cool!
Then my friend, Jayne invited me to see a movie with her. Uh, I didn't even have to think twice about it! Of course I wanted to go! It had been a long while since I had been to the movies. We went and saw our on-screen boyfriend, Matthew McConaughey in "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past." It was a cute ro-co. We were just excited to get out of the house by ourselves.
It was a good day... time with my family, time with one of my closest friends, good food, presents and the Rockets won! lol

Padres vs. Astros

On Saturday, we went to the Astros game with Papo (Gabe's Dad) and Aunt Kelly (Gabe's Sister). Zachary seemed to enjoy it all. Sophie on the other hand, she wasn't too interested. She was more preoccupied with sitting in the chair, getting down, sitting in my lap, getting down, sitting in Gabe's lap, getting down, sitting...you get the picture. I told Gabe, "I don't think we will be bringing her back anytime soon. At least not until she's about two or three." I am just thankful that there wasn't anybody sitting in front of us. That would have been a nightmare. I'm sure I would have to have taken her to the concessions area. There is no way those people would have been happy with us.
Here are a few pics from our day. They had fireworks for us at the end of the game- in honor of all of the mothers! :)

Bed Bugs

I walk into the bedroom to check on my little angels and I notice that Sophie has grown since I last saw her two minutes before. I ask, "What are you doing?" And she stares back at me.
Oh, this is why she is taller. She's trying to get on the bed by herself! Smart 'lil cookie!
Trying to decide what to do....

And finally, the leg goes up. But mom quickly rescues her before the airplane she is standing on decides to 'take off.' Needless to say, she wasn't very happy with me, but she soon forgot all about it when the cartoon came on. :)

On Saturday, we had a fish, shrimp, and oyster fry to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Just one of the reasons I love visiting my parents....GOOD FOOD! :) Aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbors came over. We had a good little party. The kids loved being outside...especially Sophie. She loves the freedom!
