Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween! Zachary was a doctor and Sophie was a UT Cheerleader. They were both too cute. We were joking that Zach was 'on call' because he didn't want to wear his pants that matched his shirt. And of course, he wasn't in the mood for pictures; so he took off his hat and mask. He wore them around the house all day, but when it came time for pictures, he wasn't having it. I guess I was lucky that he at least wore the shirt and stethoscope because all month long he was saying that he didn't want to dress up at all! I tried to explain that he had to dress up to get candy, which he then said, "I don't like candy no more." :) Yeah, right. We went to Aunt Becky's house to get some treats and then went to dinner. Once home, we visited Miss Connie next door and that was pretty much the extent of our trick or treating. It's so easy when the kids are young. I will enjoy it while it lasts! :)

Momma's Lil Helper

This is one of Sophie's favorite things to do...hang out on the dishwasher while I load/unload it. But she did something tonight that she has never done before. She noticed the water and decided to suck it all up. It was quite funny.

AWWWW

My Black Eyed Pea

It finally happened...Sophie got hurt by big brother. It was an accident though. She got hit by a toy, a hard one. And it left a mark. It cut open her skin beneath her eye...poor baby. And today it kind of looked like a black eye (hence the title of the blog). Funny, when he looks like he wants to hurt her, he doesn't. And when he is trying to be good and play with her, that's when she gets hurt. Then as she is playing today, she hit her brow on the table. That left a mark too. I'm sure she will be one tough cookie by the time she is 3! :)

Still Going Strong!

Saturday was our 5 year Anniversary! We celebrated by going to eat at Benihana's (one of our favorites). It was also very nice just to have some alone time for a couple of hours.
Thank you, Honey for all of the love, support, and strength that you have given me and our family. I love you with all of my heart and soul. I look forward to the next 5 years and what it holds.

Hootie Who!

I know that all of my sorority sisters will appreciate this one! I couldn't resist this shirt at the Gap when I saw it. For those that don't understand, the owl is one of our symbols for Chi Omega. So can you imagine the excitement I had when I found this for my future lil Chi Omega? :) Too cute! Not to mention that I found an owl night light at Target. She might get tired of owls by the time she's 10! LOL

Check Up

I took Sophie for a check up yesterday. She is a growing girl! She weighs 17 pounds (25-50 percentile), is 27 3/4 inches (75 percentile), and head is 44 cm (50-75 percentile). Now I understand why everyone thinks she is so tiny. She is tall, but the weight hasn't caught up yet. Where she got that gene, I don't know. :)
Poor baby had to get more shots, including the flu shot. Better safe than sorry. And she didn't appreciate having her ears looked at. The doctor was no longer her friend after that.
She got a little fever after the shots and she slept for 12 hours last night! Wow! That was nice. We both needed the rest.

Two Birds With One Stone

I finally got brave enough to bathe both of the kids at the same time. It wasn't too bad. I think I actually like it better this way... seems a lot faster. The kids enjoyed it too. Sophie just kicked and screamed and splashed! Zachary didn't mind sharing the tub... he loves his baby sister!

"sHE'S" So Cute

I just have to laugh now. At first though, I have to admit, it did bother me a little. Every time I take Sophie out in public, I hear... "He's so cute," or "How old is he," or "He's just too pretty to be a boy." I think to myself, "Seriously? Do you not see the pink?" Gabe thinks its because of the short hair.
So, while at the store the other day, I finally found some little (and I mean little) barettes that actually stay in her hair! I am so excited, because they are just too cute. Let's see if this helps with the confusion.
How can someone look at this cute little face and think 'boy'?
It's hard to see the barette in the second picture. You might have to click on it to make it bigger. :)

More Pumpkin Patch

Here is some more from our trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Do you know how hard it is to get a 3 year old and a 8 month old to look at the camera at the same time? :)

The Pumpkin Patch

We took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday. It was really cute. That was the first time for any of us to go. They had a hay ride and games for the kids to play with plenty of pumpkins!

Jibber Jabber

I tried to record Sophie while she was jabbering away. Of course, the other little one is talking the whole time. If you listen real close, you can hear Sophie over big brother. Her little personality is showing through and through!

Sock Monster

So, that's what happened to the socks! :)

Uh-Oh!

We have to really watch her now...the stunts continue.

My Weekend

I finally had a chance to have some time to myself. My mom was nice enough to watch the kids while Gabe was at work so that I could get away for a little while. I made a trip to Gruene, TX with a couple of 'my girls.' We had a fantastic time! We visited Gruene, ate at the Gristmill, and did a little shopping. Afterwards we headed to San Marcos to hit the outlet mall! We spent a while there and only ended up seeing half of the mall...crazy. Later we cruised the city (funny) and ate dinner. Then headed back to the hotel and relaxed in the hot tub. We laughed, laughed and laughed some more (I think that was the best part)! There for a while, it almost felt like we were back in college. We tried not to talk about the kids, but that never happened. :) Thanks sisters for a great time. I love you...when is the next trip?

Dinner for Two

It was so so cute! We went to dinner with our friends again last night (aka 'The Crew') and we sat Sophie and Dane next to each other at the end of the table. It was funny to watch their reactions...so typical...just like a man and a woman. Sophie so excited to see Dane, turning in her seat, reaching for him and squealing. Dane, acting totally cool, like he does this all of the time, and has plenty of other girlfriends. It was hilarious. I just had to take their picture.

A New Additon To The Family

No, not me! Ha, ha, ha. My niece, Ashleigh is about 6 1/2 months pregnant with a baby boy! She is due January 6th. Yes, that means that I will be a GREAT AUNT! How exciting...does that mean that I'm old? :)
We went to her baby shower this weekend and I finally got to see her teeny tiny belly! Too cute. Good luck Ashleigh and Daniel!!

Watch Me Mama

Here are a few pics of Sophie's latest milestone...she can pull herself up! And now, that's ALL she wants to do!

Toast Lover

Here is Sophie enjoying some toast. She loves it! I also bought her some biter biscuits, which I am hesitant in giving it to her because they are soo messy. I remember when Zach first had one, I couldn't believe it!

She's such a big girl!
