Jump Around

My Dad's church has a Fall Festival/BBQ every year. I took the kids to eat and buy some brisket & ribs when they spotted the jump house. Needless to say, we spent another thirty minutes there. But they had a good time playing. I love the last picture... look at their cute, little faces as they jump!! :)

The Gang

The Gang... a Football Player, a Gladiator, Bat Girl, & Snow White! A pretty good lookin' group of kids, don't ya think?? :)

A Gladiator & Snow White... (kind of sounds like the beginning of a joke, doesn't it?)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! We had a good day. My parents came to town and stayed with us. So on Saturday morning we all got up, had some breakfast and then went to Cole's first football playoff game. They ended up winning 14-13!! It was a great game with lots of excitement. Congrats Cousin Cole!!
We then all went to Mel's and had a yummy lunch. I swear that is the best Fried Chicken Salad ever!! Just writing about it makes me want to get another one. :)
After naps and resting for a while, Grandma wanted to make her famous Graveyard Cake for the kids. Well, I guess it was for all of us. The kids really enjoyed helping her make the cake. They liked putting the decorations on the top.
Everyone was coming over to our house this year, so we decided to order a pizza (or three) and then go trick or treating.
The kids were soo cute in their costumes! Zach was a Gladiator this year and Sophie was Snow White. No fuss was made about the costumes. I was afraid that Sophie wouldn't want to wear hers. She was a pro... you wouldn't think this was her first time to go trick or treating. She was a little hesitant at first (with the strangers), but after a while, she started taking the candy for herself. Haha! She didn't want to wait for them to give it to her. Hilarious!! And she pretty much walked the whole time! She did not want to be carried. Miss Independent!
Zach... well, I guess he is a little older, so he knows when things are scary. If a house had a scary entrance, door, porch, or yard, he did not want to go near it. He would just wait it out and go to the next house. But he definitely wanted MORE candy!! :)
All in all, it was a great day spent with family. We had a fun-filled day!
My sister, Becky took some pictures with her camera too, so I had put a link to Snapfish on here. You can see all the pictures from our day! Enjoy!

My Presents

I wanted to share what my hubby surprised me with on our anniversary. We weren't supposed to get anything for each other, but obviously, someone had other plans. :)
The Willow Tree plaque is titled "Family." This represents what we have accomplished in our first six years! So sweet, that husband of mine!! And the roses are so beautiful. As soon as I put them in the vase, they started opening up so big! Beautiful!! Thank you Honey, I love u!!

More Pics From the Patch!

Note to self: Don't wait til the weekend before Halloween to go to the Pumpkin Patch! It was pretty busy, and definitely hard to get a picture without all of these people in the background. But it was hard to get a picture period. Sophie really wasn't interested in taking pictures, so after the couple she did pose for, she was gone. She was off looking at a dog, walking by the fence, watching other kids, and trying to pick out a Christmas tree already! Hahaha! She's a hoot! Maybe next year.... :)

Pumpkin Patch Pics

6 YEARS.....

Gabe & I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary yesterday. We like to joke around that it feels more like 20 years, but when you stop and think about all that we have accomplished together, it does feel like more than just six years. We have a beautiful family, a beautiful home, and a beautiful life together.
My love for this man has definitely grown over the years of our marriage. I never thought that I could love him more than when we first fell in love. But time, patience, children, troubled times, good times, laughter, tears, dreams, and more laughter has proven that I can. I love you, Honey. Thank you for this life we have together! xo

Trip to Corpus

We went to Corpus over the weekend to have a visit. Here are some pictures while we were there. We got in late Friday night and stayed with Grandma Sally. We had breakfast with her and Aunt Kelly on Saturday morning and then went to Papo's house to watch the UT & OU game. Hook 'em Horns!! We feasted on tasty hamburgers and visited with Great Grandpa & Grandma Gonzalez. Later, after putting the kids to bed, we went out downtown to help Floyd (Gabe's good friend from high school) celebrate his upcoming birthday. We had a late, but good night! On Sunday, we were lazy and watched some more football and headed out of town about 5 o'clock.

Papo, Zach, & Sophie taking Gigi for a walk!

Zach learned to ride a scooter over the weekend! He loved playing with Jordan (Papo's neighbor's little boy).

He Warms My Heart!

My sweet, baby boy.... it's just that, he is so so sweet. Here are a couple of conversations that occured the past couple of days.

Zach: I love you Mommy. You are the best Mommy in the world!!

Mom: Thank you Zachary. That is so sweet. I love you too.

Pause

Zach: Mommy, now you say, "You are the best Zachary in the world!"

Mom: Zachary, you are the best Zachary in the world! (as I laugh) :)

Conversation #2:

Zach: I love you Daddy. You are the best Daddy in the world!!

Dad: Thank you. I appreciate that.

Zach: I appreciate that too.

We were supposed to be going to sleep, but after that we all started laughing! :)

20 Months!

20 MONTHS?????? Is this going by too fast for anyone else? My baby will be a Terrible Two in four months. Wait a minute... I think she is already there. Lol! But seriously. I cannot believe it.

Sophie weighs about 26 lbs and is growing like a little weed! And she is so smart. Amazes us every day. She sleeps from 8pm til about 7:30-8am. Takes about a 2 1/2 hour nap during the day. Loves to eat! Some of her favorites: cheese, ham, bananas, strawberries, corn, green beans, grapes, pancakes, eggs, pickles, nuggets, french fries, and pretty much any type of meat. And of course all of the snacks too. I wouldn't really say she has a favorite toy right now. But she loves books and will play with big brother's Legos every now and then. She still uses her paci, but only while she is sleeping. She knows that it stays in her bed when she gets out. She can definitely throw a tantrum and scream/cry with the best of them (this is my favorite- just kidding). She is showing a little interest in using the potty, but we are taking it one day at a time.

Now for the list of her words:
Ball
Baseball (sounds more like football)
Banana (nana)
Bye
Bo-bo
Cat
Candy
Cheese (eese)
Cookie
Cup
Cold
Clap (cap)
Cole (her cousin)
Daddy
Dora
Eat
Excuse you (she says this for you & her)
Eyes
Football
Fruit chews
Grandma (ga-ga)
Gone Gone
Hi
Hey
Home
Hat
Hot
Ice
Juice (which really means milk)
Lap (which means, "I want to sit in your lap")
Let's go!
Mama
No (couldn't forget this one)
Oh no!
Out
Paci
Please
Poo-poo
Papa (ga-ga)
Raining
School (scoo)
Shhh (as she taps her nose)
Shoes
Tee-tee
Uh-huh
Water
Yea!!
Zach (ack) - this one is soo cute.

Ok, so I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. And my favorite phrase she says right now is: "Bad Daddy!" She says this when he is tickling her or picking on her. And sometimes for no reason at all. It's funny!
Happy 20 Month Birthday Baby Girl! Mommy & Daddy don't know what they would do without you!

Trip to Matagorda

My parents are doing some renovations on their house in Matagorda. Some of the renovations include: new kitchen cabinets and countertop, new floors, and a new downstairs bathroom. It has been years since I have been down there (and Becky too), so we decided to make a day trip to check out the house and help my Mom make some decisions- or as we like to say, give her our "five cents." :)
We left that morning- Mom, Becky, the kids, and me. It is about a two hour and fifteen minute drive. Not too bad. We checked out the house, drove to the beach and saw the new bridge. On our way out of town we stopped at a seafood place to buy some shrimp to take home. Immediately after walking in, Zach says, "It stinks in here." Yes, the aroma of dead shrimp and clorox is not too pleasing. Of course, Zach was afraid of the shrimp. Sophie didn't pay too much attention to them. She was busy checking out all of the sweets on the racks that she could reach. But here are a couple of pics that I took.
We then ate lunch in Bay City and headed home. Sophie almost slept the whole way home. Zach, on the other hand, watched some SpongeBob and chilled in the backseat.
We had a nice little trip.

This isn't a very good picture, but I had to keep it. He was a lot closer to the ice chest before the man started pulling the shrimp out. And look at his reaction. Funny!

Sophie inspecting the shrimp.

Papa's? Or Mine?

My parents came into town last week. My Dad had left his overnight bag in the entry on the floor, not thinking anything of it. Well, guess who found it... yep, Sophie! By the time we realized what she was doing, she had his toothbrush, deoderant, shaving cream, etc. all spread out before her. It was quite funny. As I was taking these pictures, I noticed her feet! She had his shoes on too!! Such a funny girl. "Papa, you should know better. I get into everything!" :)

Oh No!!

My camera is sick. Well, hopefully it's just the (short) lens. It makes this awful, awful sound when I turn it on/off. I hope it is fixable; considering my camera is not even a year old yet. And the crazy thing is, is that I didn't drop it, act crazy with it, or anything. I'm really perturbed with the whole situation. You spend good money on something and it breaks. Gosh!!

So I have to resort to my oldie, but goodie. Especially with Halloween & The Pumpkin Patch coming up, I can't miss out on pictures!! Hopefully it won't take too long to get fixed. Wish me luck! :(

10.02.09

Our good friends, Todd & Leigh Ann got married!!!!! It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. Leigh Ann made a gorgeous bride and Todd looked just as handsome. They are a match made in heaven! Here are some pictures from the rehearsal and the big day. Gabe was a groomsman... he's the tall, dark and handsome one. :)

Story Time With Daddy

Sophie LOVES to read books! And I feel like "LOVES" is almost an understatement. She will bring book after book to either me or Gabe and want us to read it to her. If we are doing something at the moment, she expects us to drop it right away and read to her. She does not like to hear, "Wait just a minute," or "I'll read it in just a minute." She wants it NOW! :)
This day, she caught Daddy as soon as he got home from work. There was no escaping her! Lol.

As soon as the camera came out, she got distracted. And then Big Brother had to get in on the action and stole the show!
