Playing outside in the water park.
We went to the Children's Museum on Saturday.  And it was kind of a spur of the moment idea... Gabe was off of work, we were about to eat breakfast when he got the idea to do something fun with the kids.  I suggested the circus, park, museum, or something.  And then we decided to invite one of our favorite families, the Wittschens to go with us!!  The museum was really cool and right up the kids' alley!  There were so many neat things to do and see.  I think the pretend vet was Zach's favorite and of course shopping at HEB.  :)  After playing at the museum we loaded up and went to one of my favorite hamburger joints, Southwells.  It was a great day spent with friends!!  And I tell you... if you have children and you haven't been already, go visit the museum--- totally cool!

Beta Xi Love

Amy, Me, & Mel

Amy was in town... so that meant that we definitely had to get together!! Besides... this is only the second time I've seen her in a year's time!! Much too long! :) I suggested that we meet at Kilburn's, a local Tavern & Grill. We got to eat, drink, gossip, and catch up on each other's lives. I'm so thankful for my many, awesome friends! xoxo

When I decided to blog about this, I thought, "I should scan a couple of older pics of us... the three amigos, back row joes, or whatever else people nicknamed us in college!" Lol!!
The above picture is of us at our sorority's formal... I think it was December '97. Girls, correct me if I am wrong! :)

And this picture was December '99, I think. Gosh, I used to think I had a good memory! Geez! That's what having kids does to you! :)

My Birthday Weekend! :)

Believe it or not, this is the best picture we could get...even with Zach's eyes closed and the tie around his neck! Lol...never a dull moment!!

I had a really good, fun, entertaining birthday! It started over the weekend...
On Friday, I made a trip to the mall and got the house ready for our guests that were coming into town to help me celebrate. Javi & Elizabeth were the first to arrive. And then Jayne, Kevin & Dane. We had decided just to have a little get together at the house on Friday since the kids weren't leaving until Saturday. So the kids got to play together, we ordered some pizza and had some laughs. Later, Pedro, Miguel, and Marcos (Gabe's friends) came over. And finally, Floyd and Shelly showed up from Corpus. Needless to say, it was a late night!

On Saturday, I had to get up, get ready, pack the kids' bag and then go to Cypress Top's Old Fashioned Picnic. This is something that the Cypress Historical Society hosts every year that resembles what my Dad used to have for the Fourth Of July. We met my parents there and I had invited the Wittschens' to come since they are now Cypress-ites...Cypress-ians...Lol, it's one of those! Ha!
They had hot dogs, homemade ice cream, music, tours of the property, and more. This was the second annual picnic and there was a better turn out this year than last. So hopefully, it will just get better and better!
We didn't stay too, too long. It was hot, my parents were leaving and I needed a nap desperately! So we loaded up the kids with my parents (they were leaving for Matagorda for two nights) and Gabe and I returned home to rest up for the night's festivities.

We ate dinner at Willie's, came home to change and get ready and then left for Luxe. It was me, Gabe, Jayne, Kevin, Becca, Shelly, Randy, Floyd, Javi, Elizabeth, and Justin.
We had a really fun time and the club is really nice. Kind of odd where it is located, but cool that it is so close to home. :)
Elizabeth treated me to a bottle of champagne and I got to dance the night away!

On Sunday, we spent the day relaxing. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep the past two nights, so we took it easy. We watched Spain win the World Cup and we watched a couple of movies. But it was nice to do NOTHING all day...not even having to take care of the kiddos.

On Monday (my actual birthday), my hubby treated me to lunch and luckily his class was cancelled for the day so he got to spend the whole day with me. By the time we made it back from lunch, the kids were back from my parents'. So then we went to Baskin Robbins for a treat. We later went to dinner at Goodson's (something I hadn't had in a while), put the kids to bed early and watched a movie with my love. Not too shabby of a day! :)

I feel so blessed to have a wonderful family and great friends that all helped me celebrate turning 33!! Thank you to every single one of you! xoxoxo

Build A Bear

I spontaneously surprised the kids with a trip to Build A Bear when we went to the mall. I didn't even know that we were going! Ha! I had planned on just going to one or two stores and eating lunch there, but when I saw the store and they asked to go in, I thought "okay, we will just go in and look." But then I remembered that that is all we ever do in there and they had a limited edition bear that was on sale. So then I thought, "what the hell!" :)

Once I told the kids to pick out which bear they wanted, they were soo excited!! Of course they didn't want to pick the one that was on sale, so that took a little coaxing but it all worked out.

Zach getting his bear "stuffed."

Sophie giving her bear a heart.

Zach giving his bear a "bath" and "blow dry." :)

And finally, the making of the birth certificates. Zach named his bear "Lovey" and Sophie named hers "Tutti," as in Tutti Frutti (yes, I helped with that one :)).

Look How Much She's Grown!!

Eating corn at Grandma's May 2009...

Eating corn at Grandma's July 2010...

Wow!! What a difference a year makes!!

Happy Birthday America!

We went and visited Grandma & Papa at the lake for Fourth of July weekend! The kids were soo excited...it had been a while since we had been to their house to visit. Unfortunately, Gabe couldn't go with us. He had to work on that Saturday and had some school work to catch up on...remember...he's taking 9 hours of summer school right now.
We drove down on Friday evening. It had rained pretty much all day at home, but luckily it stopped once we got on the road. We made it just in time for dinner.

Saturday wasn't too sunny out, but the girls still made the most of it. Here they are 'hamming' it up for the camera!

Sunday was much better weather!! We spent all day outside...it was great!! We swam, we got some sun, the kids rode the wave runner with Uncle Stacy and Cole, Grandma grilled hamburgers & hot dogs for us, and we swam some more.

Then we had a late afternoon snack of watermelon. Yummo!!! It just isn't Fourth of July without watermelon! :)

That night we went over to Aunt Mary's house for the firework show. It's really neat because lots of people around the lake contribute to the show. And her neighbors really went all out!!! It was nuts how many fireworks they had! We would think that they were done, but then here would come another round. It was great! The kids still weren't too interested in the fireworks this year. They don't appreciate how loud they are. So they opted to play in Aunt Mary's house.
Another thing that we really enjoyed over the weekend was the shuffleboard table!!!! My Dad has always had this, but it was in Aunt Mary's garage for a while and now he finally got it moved into their garage. We would have daily games and for some reason this game never gets old. Its so much fun! My Dad took great pride in teaching Cole how to play and was impressed how quickly he picked it up. Even Zach showed a little bit of interest in learning how to play.

Thanks Mom & Dad for a great weekend!! We had lots of fun!!
