A New Additon To The Family

No, not me! Ha, ha, ha. My niece, Ashleigh is about 6 1/2 months pregnant with a baby boy! She is due January 6th. Yes, that means that I will be a GREAT AUNT! How exciting...does that mean that I'm old? :)
We went to her baby shower this weekend and I finally got to see her teeny tiny belly! Too cute. Good luck Ashleigh and Daniel!!

Watch Me Mama

Here are a few pics of Sophie's latest milestone...she can pull herself up! And now, that's ALL she wants to do!

Toast Lover

Here is Sophie enjoying some toast. She loves it! I also bought her some biter biscuits, which I am hesitant in giving it to her because they are soo messy. I remember when Zach first had one, I couldn't believe it!

She's such a big girl!

A New Season

Tomorrow is October 1st and I'm getting in the mood for Fall. I love Fall! I don't know what I like best, the cooler weather (who wouldn't love that?), the cute clothes, the colors of the season, the Halloween decorations, etc. I could probably go on a little more. :)
I just had to get on tonight and change my blog to match my mood! I love it.
I will have to decorate the house tomorrow too. Maybe make a trip to Garden Ridge for some new decorations? Sounds good to me!
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!

Thanks Ausmus!

I think everyone knows that Brad Ausmus was probably my most favorite Astro to watch-now, I didn't say he was the best player, just the finest! :) Sunday was the Astro's last game of the season and Brad's last game as an Astro. Boo-hoo, I'm sad. He's off to southern California to retire and be with his family. Hopefully he will be back in the organization as a coach someday. Wouldn't that be great?!?
He did go out with a 'bang' though... he hit a two run homer! Way to go Ausmus... that's the way to show 'em.
I'm not sure who I'm pulling for in the play offs just yet. I will have to wait and see...

Up On The Rooftop, Click, Click, Click

Okay, this is a funny story...Gabe wouldn't let me take any pictures, so you will just have to use your imagination. He probably won't even like that I am posting the story on here, but I couldn't resist...it is a classic! :)
We moved back in on Wednesday night and discovered that our satellite wasn't working. It wasn't receiving a signal, so we figured that the storm probably blew it like crazy and we would have to call and get someone to come fix it.
Thursday and Friday go by- Gabe was at work, so of course he doesn't mind the t.v. being out. I, on the other hand, did mind. I had to watch movies or listen to the radio (the house was just too quiet, yes even with the kids in the house).
So here comes Saturday. The Longhorns are about to play...so my wonderful husband gets the wonderful idea to climb on the roof and see if he can fix the dish himself. To my surprise, he did fix it. Yippee! But as he is on his way down to the ladder, here come the WASPS! One of them got him on the ear! I was still inside at this point. I come out to let him know that the picture came back on and don't see him anywhere. He is still on the roof, hiding to make sure the wasps don't get him again. So now he is basically stuck. Every other part of the roof is too steep for him to walk on and the wasps are where he should be able to get down the easiest. I stand there with him, trying to figure out what to do. We don't have any wasp spray, and we didn't have any other idea except for him to jump. I left him to his thoughts. I waited inside for about five minutes, went back outside and heard a thud on the other side of the house. He did it...he slid down on the steep side and jumped. But I couldn't see him. I called out, no answer. I called out again. Then I see movement on the ground. After jumping, he had to lay down and recover. He is okay (thank goodness), satellite is fixed, and everyone is happy.
Gabe said, "Damn wasp, I hope he died after he stung me."

LIGHTS, Camera, Action!

Well, at least LIGHTS!!!!!! Yes, we finally have power! :) YIPPEE!!!! Can you tell that I am excited?
I drove by yesterday, on my way to the grocery store and saw about five or six trucks in the area working on the poles and power lines. I thought I seriously might cry (happy tears, of course). This was at 3pm, so I didn't think our lights would be on that day. But much to my surprise, Gabe called at 7ish and said, "When are you coming home?" I couldn't believe it! We packed up and headed home.
The sign in front of my neighborhood now reads, "Thanks Centerpoint!"
And I would like to thank my sister, Sandra and her family. Thank you for putting up with us for a whole week! You all are the best!
Now off to do some cleaning and laundry. :) I'm actually happy to be doing this!

Centerpoint Energy Is Not My Friend

As you can probably tell by my title, we still have no power! We are going on day #12. Hard to believe.
We are very lucky to have family in town (with power) to let us stay. Believe me, we are very thankful.
You know it's bad when you see signs that read, "Centerpoint, please help" as you exit my neighborhood. Also, channel 2 news came out and did a story by the power lines that are still down. According to the channel 13 website, there are over 4200 customers without power in our zip code alone!
I go by everyday anticipating that my porch lights will be shining, welcoming me back home, but no luck so far.
According to Zach, our house is broke. :) Funny.
We all miss our home...I'm looking forward to just getting a decent nights sleep.

Dang This Hurricane!

We still have no power!!!! I am at my sister's house to catch up on emails, bills, and to leave this message. Crazy times. It's amazing how much we rely on electricity. What I would give just to be back in my own house, my own bed with electricity.
Hopefully we will get our power back by this weekend or early next week. According to Centerpoint, we should have it back on by today...hah!
Think and pray for us!

Watch My Baby Grow

Well, approximately three years and twenty-five minutes ago, my baby boy was born. My how time flies. I can't believe it! Zachary is my pride and joy and I couldn't have asked for more. He amazes me each and every day with how quick he learns, remembers, and what he thinks of. He is a smart little thing. I picked out some pictures from birth until now...but I couldn't put as many as I wanted (go figure), so that you can see how much he has changed over the years.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACHARY...WE LOVE YOU!

Puzzle Time

Zach had to show Papo how to put the puzzle together.

Birthday Time

Yesterday was also Zach's birthday celebration. He turns 3 on Monday. He had a wonderful time...thanks to everyone that made it so special. Enjoy the slideshow!

Yesterday was Sophie's 7 month birthday! So of course, we had a small photo shoot. Think she is used to the camera? :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!

Dare Devil In The Making?

Well, the day has finally come... my baby girl can now sit up by herself! Yea Sophie!!!!! And she can pretty much get herself there if she wants to.
It was time to bump her mattress down... I went in this morning and she had pulled herself up to a standing position! I freaked out! She was standing there just gnawing on the rail- no big deal, or anything. I think I scared her more by rushing over to her.
Once she learns something, she runs with it! :)

Dinner at the Davis'

For Labor Day, my sister Sandra had us over for dinner. We had some delicious BBQ and ribs! It was gooood! Not to mention salad, cheesy potatos, and corn on the cob. And for dessert- peach cobbler. MMMMMM! I think we left there weighing ten pounds heavier! :)
The kids had fun...Zach played with Cousin Emma's computer and enjoyed some time outside, and some good 'ol Blue Bell and popsicles!

A Hot Day For Yard Work

Well, it was that time again. It seems like we always pick the hottest time of the year to rework our flower beds, but they always need some work! It seems like we had bad soil (because whatever we planted would die), so my wonderful husband added new soil, new plants and new mulch! It turned out beautiful. Thank you Honey! You're the best! Zachary of course wanted to help, well...maybe he just wanted to be outside.
He was busy playing with the doors and locks (go figure),
riding his four wheeler,
and playing in daddy's truck. I guess he had had enough of my picture taking. This is him trying to get away from me. :)
And of him hiding. :)
